The Baby Pantry at St. Philip’s

If you are new to us, welcome! We are so glad you found us.

St. Philip’s Baby Pantry provides families with diapers, clothing for children from birth to their sixth birthday, strollers, baby formula and baby food, fresh vegetables in summer, meat and fish when available, and other supplies. Our pantry is easy to use, clean, and well-organized. Our friendly staff strive to create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can shop with dignity for basic needs.

There is no cost to shop at the Baby Pantry. If you are the parent or guardian of a child (beginning at 7 months gestation through age 5) and you live in Benzie, southern Grand Traverse, or northern Manistee Counties, you qualify. We don’t ask for your name or annual household income. We collect minimal information that helps us share our story with donors and granting agencies so that we can serve our families better.

We are open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month for in-person shopping and curbside pickup of orders made in advance. The Baby Pantry is located at the far end of the parking lot of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 785 Beulah Highway (US-31), Beulah.

Donation of new and/or gently used items and cash donations are greatly appreciated! Please see below for information about our needs and drop-off.

Donate Clothing, Shoes, and Supplies

We accept gently used donations of freshly laundered clothing, shoes, boots, and supplies such as strollers when we have a staff member present (which is only on the first and third Saturdays from 10am-3pm). This ensures that someone is present to receive your contribution and that we are only accepting items that you would give to someone you love. Please be considerate and abide by our few guidelines:

  1. All items must be free of tears, rips, stains, and other defects
  2. All items must be clean and free of household odors like smoke, pets, and mildew
  3. All items must meet the current safety guidelines for infants and children 0-5 years of age.

Donate Food and Diapers

We accept infant formula (regular and Gentlease), unopened jars of baby and toddler food, and unopened packages of diapers of all sizes.

Donate Money

Cash contributions help us buy supplies in bulk, stretching our limited resources. Donations can be:

Mailed to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 745 Beulah Highway, Beulah MI 49617 (specify Baby Pantry on the memo line of your check)

Given online (specify the Baby Pantry for your gift)

Texted to (231) 244-1415 with the letters “BP” after the amount

We accept returnable cans and bottles in the bin near the Baby Pantry entrance. Volunteers from First Congregational Church of Benzonia – UCC return the cans and donate the proceeds to the Baby Pantry.

Host a Drive for Needed Items

In 2019, two local students who wanted to give to their community chose the Baby Pantry as their beneficiary. The students held a new/gently used book drive and we were overwhelmed by their success. In just about a month’s time, at three locations, two dedicated students passionate about childhood literacy collected over 200 books for us to distribute to our families!

Now, area book clubs, local banks, the Benzie Democratic Party, and other groups hold “drives” for the Baby Pantry every year. If your group can help, please Contact Us about our greatest needs!

The Baby Pantry is grateful for the local businesses, individuals, and grants that support our families with donations. Thanks to:
