On Sundays, you will find a community bustling with joy and friendship! It’s a family-friendly environment, safe place for all to grow deeper in their knowledge and love of God. We want your whole family to feel welcome, valued, and respected. For that reason, we have various options for you, depending on the particular needs of your individual family. We know it takes a village, and we hope to be helpful in your vocation to guide and raise your children in the ways of the Lord. We welcome you and your family to St. Philip’s and encourage you to let us know more about you: we invite you to fill out the contact form, be in touch with our Rectors, or connect with our Greeters on Sunday!
If you find that it would be more beneficial to all or part of your family for the kids to have something, please read on for our various offerings. And be sure to let one of our Greeters or Ushers know what you are looking for so they can get you connected!
KIDS & CONVERSATION:
On Sunday mornings, at 9am, children 4 years old – 6th grade come together for an enriching time with one of our Co-Rectors; to share a story, sip on hot chocolate, and make something to offer in thanksgiving and in praise at the coming Eucharist.
Infants through age 3 are welcome to come enjoy a loving and safe space for them to wiggle and play in a way that is appropriate to their age. We have, caring for our little ones, at least 2 (depending on the number of children present) adults who have been properly vetted by the intentional systems and authorities of our church.
We know that liturgy is best learned through participation in it on a regular basis, the whole way through. We also know that children often internalize aspects of the liturgy best when they are occupying their busy hands. Therefore we have fully stocked “Pew Pals” to accompany them during the service. You will find crayons, pages to “reflect”, and a beautiful storybook bible. These bags are located near the entrance to the sanctuary, in a basket. Please feel free to grab one before the service or at the Peace, or at any point along the way that you find it helpful. We are here to be Christ’s Body together, so if we can be helpful, please let us know!
