We invite you to join us and experience for yourself what The Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement is doing in Benzie County! No matter who you are, or where you find yourself along this Earthly Pilgrimage, come and see!
As a Community of Faith
St. Philip’s is a congregation of year-round and seasonal members, visitors and guests who endeavor to live into our mission: embrace the presence of God in our lives, and share the riches of His grace.
We come from near and far to this picturesque area of northwest Michigan to enjoy together the wonders of God’s creation. We are privileged to worship in an inviting, redwood-paneled sanctuary, which lends itself to inner reflection, as well as joyous celebration. Our liturgy is characterized as one full of joy, love, and depth while maintaining our Anglican roots through our connection to our Diocese, The Episcopal Church and the Book of Common Prayer.
With an active membership of approximately 100 youths and adults, St. Philip’s is an open, welcoming, “pastoral size”, Episcopal church whose members continually seek the Lord’s presence in our everyday lives through worship, prayer, study and fellowship.
St. Philip’s strives to serve others in our greater local and world communities in the name of Jesus Christ.
We also tend to gather at local coffee shops and restaurants and enjoy our beautiful beaches, rivers and forests, but how could we not?
We are young and old, and represent a wide variety of political views and lifestyles, but we gather side by side on Sunday mornings (or Saturday evenings, in the summer) to worship God.
We try to make it our habit to draw circles; not lines.
We strive to support one another in the good times and the bad as we make our journey through this life, and in our shared hope and expectation of the life to come.
